In the arena of college sports, scoring is all that matters. Fans and players are primarily concerned with whether their team has put more points on the board than their opponents at the end of the game. With the focus on the game itself, there is a good deal of essential, behind-the-scenes work that ensures that sporting events, like college football games, take place on time and without a hitch, and this work often goes unnoticed. One aspect of this pre-game prep work is the transportation of team equipment for road games.
Central Van is proud to be the official moving company of the Marshall Thundering Herd. The Herd represent Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia. Thundering Herd athletic teams compete in Conference USA, which are members of the NCAA Division I schools.
Central Van employees work relentlessly to ensure that the sporting equipment of The Herd arrives within the state or passes through multiple state lines at its proper destination without issue. In addition to transporting the equipment, our employees assist in the loading and unloading process. Helmets, pads, uniforms, heaters, exercise equipment and even the coaches’ communication system are transported with our big rigs for their road game destinations. Being a member of Conference USA, The Herd travel to schools such as North Texas, Florida Atlantic, Southern Miss, Middle Tennessee and Western Kentucky and Central Van safeguards that the equipment arrives on-time, in great condition and is ready for play well before game time.
Our employees’ commitment to excellence has earned them the appreciation and respect of Marshall University. They are treated like valued members of The Herd’s team and have even received rings from bowl games as a token of this appreciation. It’s rewarding to know that another exciting Thundering Herd road game has taken place without issue because of the effort and commitment of our drivers and employees.
